A little bit about me and how I came to be in the fitness industry

I never saw myself as personal trainer, a business owner or even anyone that could accomplish anything much in life. It was one step at a time, following my heart and doing the things I was passionate about that led me to this point. Surrounding myself with inspired, positive and helpful people was key too! Starting this business was the scariest leap I’ve ever taken! It has by far been the most rewarding journey. I am a coach, a leader, a mentor, a manager, a fitness instructor, an event planner, a fellow athlete, a confidant and a friend. My only hope in life is to build a legacy that will outlive me. I honestly believe I’m doing that each and every single day here at Lissome. I’ve found my niche in this world.

Why I love being a coach at Lissome

When you experience what it’s like to be here, to feel the energy of these women and this style of training, you’ll quickly understand why I love running this place so much. I had always envisioned Lissome to be a place where motivated, positive and encouraging women would work together to achieve incredible things. But the actuality of these women and what they have created far exceeds that. My heart is so full and happy here.

A little bit about me and how I came to be in the fitness industry

I live for summer and love a great coffee and book. I’m also super passionate about all things health! My background is teaching, and I’ve been lucky enough to combine this with my passion for fitness in a full-time capacity as Head Coach at Lissome. I’ve trained at gyms for years and in this environment quickly developed a strong interest in the role that exercise and nutrition play in feeling vital.

My interest in the fitness industry started with my own fitness journey. I became so passionate about it, I wanted to learn more and be able to educate others!

A little bit about me and how I came to be in the fitness industry

I’m a country girl who loves a good laugh and company! I came to Lissome and in to the fitness industry after completing a Maxine challenge and going on my own health journey. Losing weight motivated me to want to help and inspire others to lead a happier and healthier life. I moved to Newcastle to complete my fitness training and my next-door neighbour turned out to be Nez! She talked me in to trying out the gym and I fell in love and have been lucky enough to coach there since.

A little bit about me and how I came to be in the fitness industry

My greatest joy is cooking and creating beautiful and unique food for my loved ones. I speak fluent pun and Dad joke and like to drop funnies at any given opportunity. I studied a Bachelor of Health with a major in Nutrition and graduated as a Nutritionist in 2016. My studies piqued my curiosity in health and well-being but it was joining Lissome in 2017 that transitioned that curiosity into a passion. Lissome has shown me that’s there so much more to the fitness industry than I first thought. It’s about community, connection and education. My own relationship with health and exercise has completely transformed since coming to Lissome and I want nothing more than to be apart of other women’s journeys in feeling that shift.

‘I can and I will’

Why I love being a coach at Lissome

I love seeing a woman’s focus shift from what her body looks like to what her body can do. When a woman’s goals become focused on learning skills or lifting weights they never, ever thought they’d be able to do rather than their weight or how their clothes fit. Seeing women reach so strongly to meet their potential - day in, day out, it’s so powerful.

A little bit about me and how I came to be in the fitness industry

I’m 27, born and raised in Newcastle. I love to live a healthy and simple life with my family spending time outside and being active. I was an overweight child that struggled with my weight and confidence, with little knowledge of how to do any different. I tried every fad diet you could name and eventually decided to teach myself how to be healthier and happier. I came into the fitness industry to follow my passion for helping others with similar struggles.

A little bit about me and how I came to be in the fitness industry

I am a mum of 3 amazing boys - 6,5 & 3 and I spend the majority of my time outside of lissome with them! We love the beach, exploring the outdoors or move nights in. In my downtime I play video games & can often be found binge watching foreign cuisine documentaries or trying my hand at perfecting my ramen. I was in my last year of a Primary Education degree when the opportunity arose to start coaching at Lissome. I couldn’t miss the chance to chase my passion after my own rollercoaster of a weight loss journey, so I put a hold on my degree and have been here since.

Why I love being a coach at Lissome

I want to help women recognize the strength in loving themselves and prioritizing their health - mentally as well as physically - at all stages in life. Lissome is the ultimate arena for that - providing room for growth across all aspects, encouraging connection & a desire to always want for more for ourselves.
