What is Flexibility?

When most people think flexible, they think “the ability to touch their toes”.

What it actually refers to is the length to which a muscle group can be stretched.

Most people believe that to feel less “tight”, they must stretch the muscles so that they become more flexible. Unless you can dedicate hours per day to flexibility training, the more efficient way is strength training!

As flexibility and mobility training are very short term, the key is strength! Loading up the new range of motion tells the nervous system – “I need this new ROM, I am going to keep it!”

Tight hamstrings? Try some 4-5s Eccentric Tempo Romanian Deadlifts. They will improve hamstring strength and flexibility!

Tight hips? Try some deep goblet squats, holding the bottom position.
